We're starting a new year! And therefore we understand it is the ideal time to carry out New Year's resolutions. So, we're launching a new edition (already the sixth!) of our canine education and obedience group courses, both for adult dogs (> 1 year of age) and for puppies (between 2.5 months and 1 year old).
We will start in March 2025, but the date has yet to be determined depending on your availability and the number of groups that are created. The classes, which take place weekly at our center in Calvià, last about 50 minutes. For us to set up a group, a minimum of 5 dogs per group must register.
In each group there will be a minimum of 1 educator for every 5 dogs and a maximum of 10 dogs per group. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and socialized. If you think your dog has any behavioral issues, please let us know. Group classes are not always the best choice for fearful or reactive dogs, as they can even be counterproductive and cause more stress than benefit. Anyhow, we will study each dog individually to make sure what is the most appropriate option for each case.
Here you will find a table with the number of classes depending on whether your dog is a puppy or an adult (remember that we will be meeting for one 50-minutes class per week, held always on the same day and at the same time) and the rates, per dog, depending on the number of dogs per group:

To book your place, we suggest you do so by paying €100 in advance. The rest of the full amount will be paid on the first day of class. Partial or full refunds are not made unless there is an unforseen circumstance and a force majeure reason (such as a serious illness or the death of the handler or the dog) and proof must be presented to prove this. If a student does not show up to a class, he/she will not have the option to make up the class on their own. But we always offer at least 1 additional group class at the end of the course free of charge for everyone enrolled. In case of rain, class will be postponed to the following week, since we do not yet have a covered indoor place to hold classes.
The cues that we will be learning during the course are: sit, lay down, stay, walking together, not pulling on the lead, the recall, the eye contact and self-control or the commonly "don't eat" or "leave it" (anything that is given to our dog or found on the ground or any other place and is not permitted). All these cues will be trained until an accurate obedience is achieved both at home and outside in the street with and without a leash.
Regarding the education, our goal is for you to understand what a dog is in all his breadth, what his needs are for his species and how to meet those needs in order to have a dog that is as happy and balanced as possible. We can help you clarify obsolete or erroneous concepts such as dominance, the Alpha dog or the leader of the pack, redirect it if necessary and understand why we work by applying positive reinforcement and without using accessories or aversive methods, among many other things.
We will provide you with what is necessary so that you can apply a good environmental enrichment to achieve the well-being of your dog, to strengthen your bond and to make sure that both you and your dog enjoy training together.
As for the puppies, don't worry, we will accompany you throughout their growth: teach them to relieve themselves outside the home, how to carry out a good socialization and introduce them to other animals, humans, environments and manage different situations, how we can help them during the teething stage to relieve the pain when they bite so much, how to create a secure attachment, etc...
Please have in mind that here not only the dog learns, but (and above all) we humans. We want you to finish the course with as much knowledge as possible so that you can "fly solo" and know how to apply it over the years with your dog and with those who may come after. In order to to have excellent results, it is recommended that all people who live with the dog practice the training. Therefore, we suggest that you sign up with your family, including children aged 10 years old and above.
